  • Indications

    The thermal waters lead to a general improvement in the state of health, restoring the body and mind.

    Because of their therapeutic properties, it's always advisable to consult the thermal baths' doctors for admission to treatment.

    Our medical staff is available every day during opening hours, also for general consultations, prescriptions and first aid.

  • Contraindications

    It is preferable for those in situations of serious deterioration of the immune system (such as malignancies during chemo or radiotherapy, in the case of acute infections and serious cardiovascular failures, kidney or liver diseases, and severe cardiovascular diseases (acute phlebitis, thrombosis, etc) and during the first three months of pregnancy to not enter the thermal water.

    Children are not permitted in the thermal baths, due to the intense impact they have on the cardiovascular system.

Volcanism

Ischia belongs to the volcanic system of the Phlegraean Fields, a crater where the signs are volcanism are very much present with fumaroles, the solfatara of Pozzuoli, the thermal baths of Agnano in Naples, etc.
The island also has a secondary volcanic activity, which is manifested by minor phenomena, such as solfataras (emissions of superheated steam mixed with sulphur), fumaroles and mofette (hot emissions of steam and carbon dioxide) and, especially, thermal waters, rich in beneficial substances.

Water purity

The water for curative and bathing purposes that we use in the pools, natural sauna and for inhalations are taken directly from thermal-mineral springs: they're regularly subjected to rigorous quality checks to ensure their chemical, physical and bacteriological purity.

Properties of the water

Our thermal and hyperthermal (over 40°) springs of volcanic origin belong to the saline-bromine-iodine and saline-alkaline-sulphate group, with small quantities of various trace elements, such as calcium, magnesium, lithium, etc.
The richness and variety of salt concentration, as well as the temperature increases in the pools from 28° C to 40°C, allow differentiated baths according to individual needs.

As well as restoring the body and mind, our thermal waters have a proven therapeutic effect on the osteoarticular system (osteoarthritis, spinal pain syndromes, myalgia, tendinopathy), they treat the after-effects of fractures and palsy, chronic respiratory diseases, gynaecological disorders, they also improve, in conjunction with heliotherapy and thalassotherapy, dermatological diseases(psoriasis, neurodermatitis, eczema, acne) and have a good effect on cellulite and peripheral vascular diseases in general.
